Delivering Results for Buellton
Since being elected in 2022 and serving as Mayor, I’ve focused on delivering real results for Buellton: strengthening our infrastructure, investing in community services, and building partnerships that bring resources back to our city.
Housing & Infrastructure
✔ Advanced the Santa Ynez River Trail, securing $425,000 of state funding to move the project forward
✔ Helped bring a future Cottage Hospital Facility to Buellton
✔ Restored a CHP motor officer to improve safety on Highway 246
✔ Expanded the Urban Growth Boundary for the first time in 15 years with voter approval to provide Buellton residents local control on how our community grows
✔ Provided outreach and support to bring 189 affordable housing units online for seniors, veterans, and working families with a focus on prioritizing local placement
Community Investment
✔ Secured $1 million for the Santa Ynez Valley Children’s Museum
✔ Secured a $500,000 pledge for the SYV Aquatics Center and worked with the City of Solvang to match Buellton’s pledge
✔ Provided $250,000 to Meals on Wheels to serve Buellton Seniors and those with greatest risk of food insecurity
✔ Opened the new Buellton Library
✔ Brought back the Buellton Farmers’ Market
✔ Delivered record funding to local nonprofits, arts, and cultural programs
Health & Community Services
✔ Created the Santa Ynez Valley Benefits Maximization Fair to help residents keep healthcare coverage and navigate housing assistance
✔ Working to bring senior and ADA transportation services to improve access to care in the Valley and County
✔ Working to establish a regional healthcare support hub in coordination with People Helping People and CenCal Health
Environment & Resilience
✔ Working to fulfill the 1,000 Trees Initiative
✔ Passed one of the most forward thinking Dark Skies ordiances of the County for the City of Buellton
✔ Advancing native plant landscaping policies
✔ Working with local partners to bring the first ever valley-wide Community Wildfire Protection Plan
Community & Belonging
✔ Installed communication boards in all of Buellton’s city parks for nonverbal children
✔ Established city proclomations honoring diverse communities
✔ Introduced pet microchipping stations (first in the county)
✔ Launched Pride flags and civic recognition programs
Good Government & Transparency
✔ Launced town halls and Mayor’s Coffee Hours
✔ Strengthened our water and sewer system financials to ensure longterm sustainability of infrastructure
✔ Built partnerships to bring state and regional resources back to Buellton
✔ Maintained a balanced budget with solid reserve funding to provide stability and flexibility as Buellton looks to the future
Regional & State Leadership
✔ Vice-Chair, Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG)
✔ Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Air Resources Board (CARB)
✔ Serving on regional boards advancing transportation, housing, and clean energy
